Hello, Dolly!

Have you ever seen the classic stage musical Hello Dolly? It's back in London for 2020 and we cannot wait! For a start, it stars the brilliant four-time Olivier Award winner Imelda Staunton, who plays Dolly. It co-stars the Olivier winner and Tony nominee Jenna Russell as Irene Molloy. It's a Dominic Cooke production and your venue is the Adelphi theatre, a treat in itself. The amazing choreographer Bill Deamer, the superb scenic and costume designer Rae Smith, the respected music supervisor Nicholas Skilbeck, they're all involved. The production is by Michael Harrison Entertainment and David Ian Productions, and the fun begins once the excellent Waitress completes its current run at the Adelphi.

Imelda Staunton won the Olivier award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods. She played the murderer Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, a wonderfully grisly role, and delighted audiences as Madame Rose in Gypsy. She also has countless TV credits to her name. Hello, Dolly! follows Dolly Gallagher Levi, a professional matchmaker, as she travels to Yonkers in New York, tasked with tracking down a love match for a mean and miserly rich man, a 'half-a-millionaire' called Horace Vandergelder. But Dolly wants the rich man for herself, and all manner of complex and hilarious mistakes are made in the characters' search for love and happiness. Best of all there's a proper happy ending. Result!
